Our Shipping Policy Pictured are the gift sets we mail directly to your recipient in the 7x7x7 USPS Priority box. They arrive with a signed gift card. NEW: If you are located within a reasonable driving distance and would like to pick up your order - or if we are able to deliver your order (within the immediate village of Stamford), we will settle your transaction minus the shipping charged by our shopping cart. Please leave a note in the comment field in the shopping cart indicating a local pick up. We will call you or send an email with your order ready date, usually within 1-2 business days. We use packing "peanuts" for regular orders to reduce the weight and brown shredded paper for gift box orders. USPS Priority boxes are used for all orders. If your order is a gift, please check the GIFT box during checkout. The shipping amount calculated by our shopping cart is based on actual product weight. As each item is added to our store we assign an average weight and soaps often weigh more than estimated. In most cases the shipping amount you are charged is equal to or less than our actual cost. We audit shipping charges after packing orders and if actual shipping is at least $ 3.00 less than the amount charged, we will settle your transaction with the reduced weight. Please note that USPS shipping has increased and is based on actual packed weight and your postal zone. Rates are calculated by the postal system in increments of 1 pound and by postal zone. For example, a rate is calculated for up to 1 pound, up to 2 pounds etc. (All of our emulsions in glass jars weigh approx 1.5 pounds in the small Priority Mail box due to the glass so we've updated their weight to 1.5 lbs. This is because we often have orders for one of these and the difference in shipping has resulted in our actual cost being nearly twice the postage we charged for orders sent to the mid and western regions. When sent to the eastern region of the US - within our postal zone, you will see only a few cents difference in shipping cost, but in the middle and western regions it's quite a bit more. Our best advice is if you live outside our postal zone, add something else to your order and the postage will increase only a few pennies or remain the same depending on your choices. Also keep in mind that we audit postal charges on all orders. Your account is not charged until the order is packed and ready to ship, ie the day it ships. At that point we are able to settle the transaction for a lesser amount. If this occurs, we'll send you an email explaining the difference. Of course if actual postage is MORE, we cover the difference. We can not settle for a greater amount than what you see in your cart.) We are firmly committed to avoiding inflated postal fees! After your order is placed, we will ship your package within 3 business days. We ship via USPS Priority Mail, which is generally 3-4 days in transit. In all cases, the shipping address must match the cardholder's address, unless the order is a gift. We verify gift order addresses and may require signature confirmation upon delivery. All orders are audited for content and items checked off by a second staff member to ensure that the correct items and quantities are shipped. In rare cases if an item unexpectedly becomes out of stock, we will contact you via email or telephone and suggest a substitution. If a substitution is not made, we will charge only for items shipped, with the correct shipping amount. Larger orders are sent insured with delivery confirmation and may require your signature when delvered. If a signature is required, we'll notify you via email. In this case, if you are not available when your package arrives, please be aware that a notice will be left and you will need to contact your post office to arrange for an alternate delivery date, or your package can be picked up at your post office. We will send you an email confirmation when your order ships, and your package will be approximately 3-4 days in transit. It is your responsibility to accept delivery of your package. Orders returned due to inability to deliver will result in an additional shipping charge. Returns & Exchanges We guarantee every product we create. If for any reason you are not satisfied, we will honor an exchange or refund. Please contact us within 3 days of receipt of your order for a return number. All returns and exchanges must be received within 10 days of receipt of your order. You are responsible for shipping charges relating to any return or exchange. If an item is damaged in transit, we will cover return shipping and send an exact replacement. |
