All of our emulsions now contain the same basic organic ingredients: organic base oils, organic aloe vera juice or organic whole leaf aloe vera gel, water etc. The honey and beeswax are not designated as organic. However the beekeeper does not fertilize the wildflowers where his bees live. The emulsifiers (veg based palm stearic and emulsifying wax) are not organic and are used at up to 10% of the emulsion. Non-paraben preservatives are used at up to 1% in total. These are guaranteed fresh for up to 12 months. NEW Facial Masks coming very soon! Currently we offer Herbal Balancing Day Lotion in 2 oz amber glass pump bottles and Herbal Balancing 24 Hour Cream in 2 oz glass jars. As with nearly all of our emulsions, we've used mainly organic base oils and large amounts of organic aloe vera juice (or whole leaf organic aloe vera gel)and unrefined pure honey. Some contain Green Tea Extract and all contain large amounts of nurturing pure essential oils. We use cosmetic grade food starches to adjust and control texture and viscosity in our emulsions, rather than chemicals. These are added in very small amounts, up to 2%. Our skin is very porous - we avoid chemicals when possible. Both Herbal Balancing Day Lotion and Herbal balancing 24 Hour contain Rose and Chamomile Hydrosols (floral waters) in addition to the Organic Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice (or Organic Whole Leaf Gel). Herbal Balancing 24 Hour cream will stay through the night and into the next day, even if you toss and turn. The beeswax gives this a bit more staying power and can be adjusted for day or night use by applying to a dry, slightly damp or lightly misted face. Allow a few minutes to absorb before applying foundation. Herbal Balancing Day is slightly less concentrated (less beeswax etc)for daily use with a lighter lexture. Both are compatible with most facial cosmetics. This group was developed for dry mature skin for year round use. Allow a moment after application for the oils to absorb before using your cosmetics. You can adjust the strength of our emulsions by applying a smaller amount to damp skin for less concentration or allow your skin to dry a bit before application. These are very concentrated - a little goes a long way. NO fragrance is added other than essential oils. They are protected with our non-paraben preservation system consisting of Potassium Sorbate and Polyaminopropyl Biguanide at 1% in total. Reformulating all of our emulsions to include mainly organic oils and butters, and our use of new food starches required more time than expected. Our lip balms are 100% natural, made with: organic shea butter, organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, castor oil, unrefined honey, unrefined beeswax, rosemary oleoresin extract and Vitamin E. New batches will be designated as "anywhere balms" and packed in various sized tins. Please bear with us as we complete the new batches and packaging. (The best time to apply a lip or hand balm is at night before retiring). UPDATE: We have temporarily postponed the lotion based facial cleanser. Our 100% natural milk bars soaps and our HP Liquid soap are wonderful and mild facial cleansers. FACIAL SOAPS: Our priority has always been to make soap that is wonderful for all body use, including face and hair. Our picks for great facial soaps are shown below. These soaps, when fully aged (meaning 2-3 mos) become even milder for the most sensitive skin. With a little extra curing nearly any of the milk soaps are nice for even sensative facial use. Those made with bentonite or kaolin clays are especially nice during summer. These clays are not drying. We add small amounts to help detoxify and aid razor use while still leaving your skin moist and nourished. We try to stay ahead with the facial bars but some may be very fresh when shipped. Gently squeeze the sides of the bar to determine whether a bit more drying may be needed for the most sensitive facial use.
